ISOLATION TRANSFORMERS
isolation transformers are transformers with a one to one turns ratio,
where one side is connected to the source and the other to the load.
Used to prevent any DC bias levels present on the source from passing
through to the load. isolation transformers can carry high
frequency noise on the input primary to the output secondary windings
so they are typically designed to minimize this capacitive coupling.
There is a method to evaluate the performance of electrostatic shielded
power isolation transformers with respect to the common-mode electrical
noise attenuation.
Isolating transformers insulate the primary winding from the secondary.
This can be done using several methods which include separating the
windings, and isolation and shielding purposes. isolation transformers
are made for superior line noise reduction and spike suppression,
negating the need for a dedicated AC line.
The Insulation Resistance measured in isolation transformers is the
resistance of an insulation material to the flow of current resulting
from an impressed dc voltage. The isolation transformers ' insulation
resistance is usually measured in megohms.
